My name is Dave Adams.
I started playing cards for money when I was nine years old, that's 30 years of poker.
Since the game of poker has fascinated me and been a big part of my life.
When I was in high school I started running home poker games and tournaments.
For almost a decade I kept these small stakes poker operations running.
I continued to play every week in home games during college, supplementing
my income with poker.
After college I moved to south Jersey and started playing texas hold'em,
seven card stud, stud high/low, and omaha high/low split eight-or-better
in the card rooms of Atlantic City.
Eventually I wound up playing cards full time, making a living playing poker.
For three years I played cards full time, and made a decent living. However,
the life of a poker player is a hard one, and not really the career I wanted for myself.
Thus I decided to change gears, and switch sides of the table.
I started dealing poker in Las Vegas, but it wasn't long until I was supervising and
running tournaments.
Once the World Poker Tour started televising poker tournaments,
the demand for dealers and floor persons skyrocketed. I was training dealers
left and right, doing auditions constantly.
The supply couldn't keep up with the demand.
These days I'm still working in the poker industry, and doing consulting as well.
Poker is my life, so I don't expect that to change anytime soon.
